Friendship bags

Do I have all of my August projects completed? No. Probably because I keep getting distracted by all of these projects I keep falling in love with. Here are 2 Friendship bags that I spent a chunk of the day on. I even just played around with ways to fill them.

I think the body wash would make a great teacher giftie...if anyone else is starting to think Christmas gifts. The markers are going to a big sis when I deliver the baby quilt. Good idea, huh?

I used scraps leftover from other projects. This came in handy as Mr. Dandelion received his official termination letter this week due to reduction in workforce. He has been on call for months, as many of you know. This was not really a surprise at all, but it is sad all of the same. When you work somewhere for close to 18 years and it is a good job, it is sad to have to start over. Mr. Dandelion is going to try school this time around. So, I have decided I am going to be doing lots of smaller projects with scraps. You may remember the darker fabric from my NY Beauty quilt top. I still love that fabric.

A big thanks to Rachel for the great tutorial.

So sorry to hear about Mr. Dandelion. But you're right; sometimes these things end up becoming positive after all. And making things out of your scraps can be very satisfying! (So I hear.)

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear about Mr. Dandelion. I surely hope and prayer he can start over again without too much trouble. I am sure he will. Good for him though, going back to school!! I just love the little bags. That was a great tutorial from Rachel.

That's a big bummer. I'm sorry to hear about Mr. Dandelion getting cut loose. That sucks even if you were kinda expecting it. On another note, that friendship bag is too cute! I joined the swap for the friendship bag. I'm in the mood for a swap! But I totally hear you on the distractions. I need to update my list.... on paper. It's in my head for the moment!

Great teacher gift for sure. You just sparked an idea for me! Off to check out my scraps!

Cute as heck. You got your little friendship bags done so fast. My pieces all cut out are just on my sewing table waiting for me to put them together. I'm using ME Recipe For Friendship charms. That is very hard to lose a job after being there so long, I hope he finds a new job soon.

I found you on Rachael's, p.s.i quilt. I too am doing the Friendship Bag exchange. So cool!!! I love it. I really like the 1st Friendship bag you made and the colors you chose. I like the 2nd one because it shows your creative side.

The creativity and diversity that you gals show on your blogs is just incredible. I am in awe of the talent that I see and have come to so appreciate. Thank you for sharing that with all of us.

I'm assuming Mr. Dandelion is your partner in crime and I truly hope all will be okay in that situation.

The bag at the very top of your blog (the header) is just too gorgeous for words!!! I have fallen head-over-heels in love with it!! I can only think of ONE other bag that I thought was that sweet!! Please, please, please tell me there is a tutorial for it. Please feel free to e-mail me with your reply. I will remain, "Sleepless in Minnesota" till I hear.
