Summer didn't go as exactly as we planned
I've been absent from my blog and from yours. I've been absent from my sewing room. Mainly I think I just haven't had any drive to complete anything. Or talk about sewing. Brady kicked summer off poorly by breaking his arm, 2 hours after the final bell of the year rang. It was a pretty severe break, and he fractured another bone as well. He had surgery, and an 8 inch rod seemed to straighten everything out.

I. Love. This. Quilt.
Sorry for the terrible picture. When you wait until the last minute to finish you don't have a lot of time to wait for the perfect light for your shot.

Paper crafting.
I've been making some cards for upcoming weddings and graduations. I really like the neat fold of these cards. I took the ribbon off one so you can see it.

Saturday Sewing
I loved that finished Lorax quilt. I decided to make a mini star quilt out of October Afternoon fabric. I went to reach for the white, but opted to use some linen I had. I like the results. My husband didn't care for the muted tones ... but I do. It isn't my normal.

Paper crafting
Well, I haven't had the sewing itch in sometime, but mom and I have been enjoying making cards. And, I did make some bookmarks for reading month fun. What projects are keeping you busy?

Lorax baby quilt- giant star
Working on this baby quilt. Used a quilt I pinned in Pinterest as my inspiration piece. I used 11 squares if fabric to start with. A quick and cute quilt top. I also pieced the backing. Happy holidays!

New Bag
I wanted to make my student teacher a bag. She leaves us this week, and we will miss her. She is a remarkable person. This bag turned out darling. It had a lot of fabric though...pretty thick, but very sturdy! Fabric: Amy Butler. Pattern: Penelope Ruffles by Izzy and Ivy.

Headbands for a good cause
I had today off work, so I worked on these headbands. I am donating them to a silent auction benefitting my friend's husband. He went from being this youthful 30ish man, who was quite fit and ran all the time to a man haunted with head pain, instability (uses a cane), and has recall problems. No one seems able to help him. He has been to many hospitsls. Now he has a trip lined up to Mayo. I hope they can help. I hope someone bids on these at the auction, too. Happy thanksgiving!

Getting ready for a baby shower!
My friend's shower is quickly approaching, so today I whipped up these burp clothes, quilted the quilt finally, and I'm still working on the binding.
That's it for the quilting show here. Fall sure is busy.
