A finished present for Christmas

Oh hold your groans and moans, it is raining here today, so I thought I'd sew up a Christmas present. This adorable tote is a variation of a tote from Whistlepig Creek Craft Patterns charming totes 3. I say variation because you will see that I decided against the band.

This is a picture of the pattern, which you can find here.

This tote will be for Buddy's Kindergarten teacher this year.

I am quite pleased to have it done. I decided to use covered buttons for the pinwheels instead of a regular button. I had never covered a button before- how easy is that? And, I think they turned out just darling.

I am contemplating some kind of tacking on the prairie points because the top one keeps flopping down. What do you think? I tried some starch alternative. Didn't seem to do much for it.

The fabric is Cotton Blossoms Charm pack and coordinating fabric.

I like the bag better without that top flap. Yeah, covered buttons are super easy. I think the prairie point pinwheel looks fine like it is. I'm liking that pattern a whole lot more now that I see yours all made up, seriously it's much better without the turned over fabric thing at the top.

How cute is that? But I still reserve the right to groan.

How darling - I like it much better without the top flap too! Yes, you can tack down the pinwheel if it flops, that would get annoying, lol. Too, too cute!

Okay. LOVE IT! And good for you to be on the ball like that. LOVE the pinwheel accent on the bag too. I think I have that pattern as well. I may have to borrow that pinwheel idea!

Forgot to say... if the flopping bothers you, tack down the prairie points. I know that little issue would drive me crazy.

Eeeek! That's adorable! (20 lashes with a wet noodle though, for saying the "C" word!) I love the little pinwheel -- I'd definitely tack it down!
