Charming Girls Quilt Club August finishes

Okay, Charming ladies! I am so pleased to be announcing my 3 finishes this month. I can hardly believe I got all 3 done, with all of that bag sewing I seemed to distract myself with!

Let's recap:
Finish #1: I finished my Crazy 8's quilt top for one of the twins.

Finish #2: I finished my Disappearing 9 Patch Quilt top for another friend's baby.

Finish #3: I quilted and sewed on the binding this pinwheel quilt that I have had sitting in a closet for over a year.

It feels great to have this quilt finished.

Now, I promised my faithful readers last week a giveaway. So, for all of you that are reading (perhaps you are a regular commenter, perhaps you are a regular reader who doesn't leave comments, perhaps you are a visiting Charming Girl, or perhaps today is just the first visit you've paid my blog), leave a comment about 'your favorite' baby quilt you've seen or quilted and I will enter you in the drawing for these cute 8 Paddington Bear fat quarters from my lqs.

Just leave a comment and I will enter your name in the drawing. Please don't send people this way, this is just for people who stopped by to read about the doings here at DQ. Have a good day! I'll draw a name Saturday.

Thanks to all who entered. The GIVEAWAY is now closed. I will be announcing the winner shortly.

Hi! This is my first visit to your blog; I am visiting all the Charming Girls blogs! Kind of strange, it is still Monday out here on the West Coast! I once saw a really cute girls quilt...it looked like a girl in bed with a quilt pulled up to her face.

Another Charming Girl here! I really like that Crazy 8's quilt - such pretty colors! The most recent baby quilt that I made was the Windmill Baby Quilt from the Moda Bakeshop. I used just the blues and greens from the Neptune line along with the white background. It was also my first time making prairie points.

Wow, you have achieved so much this month - all beautiful! I saw a really lovely quilt pattern in a patchwork shop in Mittagong, NSW, Australia - each block was a bunny appliqued in pastel colours, but from behind, so the only embellishment was a very cute pompom for the tail!

the most recent baby quilt I made was my SImple Strip quilt on Moda Bakeshop!

You finished quite a bit this month!! I am impressed and they are all just beautiful. The most favorite baby quilt was one that I made for my niece, it was bright pink and green, like a watermelon.

Way to go girl with all your finishes! I used some Back to School fabric for my grandson & nephews two children's quilt. The fabric had ABC's on it & words that start with the letters. Then I put all bright solid color blocks with it. It is great for teaching for ABC's, words & colors.

Your giveaway fabric is great. I haven't seen it.

I am a regular reader of your blog, I follow it on my google reader. I only follow the most interesting and inspiring blogs by the way:) My favorite baby quilt is the pinwheel with white sashing that was on Moda Bake Shop with American Jane snippets fabric. I don't remember the name. It is so cute and easy and I backed it with chenille. Not to mention the custom quilts I made for my 2 grandchildren..... I love your fat quarter colors, a beautiful combination.

Hi, it's my first time at your blog. The cutest baby quilt I've seen in awhile is one my daughter is making, reds, yellows, and white and it's doll dresses and pinwheels. Adorable!
Congrats on your finishes! I'm falling behind on mine!

I have been reading your blog for the past three months. My favorite baby quilt was the one I recently made, Attic Window, the my second great niece. I rarely use traditional baby fabric knowing the niece will grow into it. Thanks for an entertaining blog.

You go girl! You are so on a roll getting things done!

I'm currently working on some blocks that I will post pics of during the week. I'm bored with them already. Sooooo I'm moving on to something else and putting these away for now. They are frustrating me. I'm going to work on my friendship bag swap.

My favorite baby quilt was one I made for a friend who was having her second Daughter. It was very simple, but it was all shades of pink. I love pink! You have done a fantastic job on all you finishes! I really love the colors you choose!

I really love the ISPY that I made for my son, especially where I used ABC letter fabrics to spell out his name.

Sorry, I messed up that previous post. Anyway, I love your finishes! My favorite baby quilt (that I made) is a square in a square of all sorts of bright colors. I don't think I have posted a photo on my blog because I finished it before, but I might have to now.

I really like your pinwheel quilt, the colors are so pretty. For some reason I have fallen in love with pinwheels. I just recently found your blog and I think the first bag you made for the "Friendship Bag Swap" is lovely.

The first baby quilt that I made by totally sewing and quilting it by hand was a tumbling blocks quilt for my first grandson. I chose very soft and muted pastels with white border, backing and binding. My daughter says it's her favorite baby quilt and it has gone through all three of her children.

Oh your purple quilt is so pretty! I love the fabrics, and your quilting. Unbelievable that you had something so pretty sitting in the closet for a year - WAIT! I just realized I have a purple quilt top sitting on the shelf - it only needs to be quilted! Oh, now I see how it works. Sigh. well, it going to sit there for a while longer.

My favorite baby quilt is the one I made for my DD. (An appliqued rocking horse.) She's 26 now and that quilt was used until it was nothing but a rag.

I cant believe all the quilts you finished this month. I worked non stop through the weekend and managed to finish two baby quilts but have not got a picture up yet. I would have to say my favorite baby quilt I have made is one I made a few months ago for my cousins son because its the first time I had made a quilt without a pattern and made it up myself! :)

You have wonderful finishes and the fabrics are fantastic. Thanks for visiting my blog and listening to my gripe.
Favorite baby quilt...I can't remember the name but it appeared in Quiltmaker years ago and they may still sell kits for all I know. It has bears in four corners and stars....still a favorite.

Your Charming Girl finishes are fabulous. My favorite baby quilt is a turtle quilt that was a combination of piecing and applique plus it was the first quilt I machine quilted. It wasn't perfect, but it was cute. How generous of you to have this great give away. I have been a follower for a long time.

I guess my favorite baby quilt is the one I made for my grandson for last Christmas. It also happens to be the first quilt I've ever made!

Wow, congratulations on your finishes! I love them all, but especially that sashed disappearing 9-patch. I must try that.
My favorite baby quilt is one I made a friend - vintage pattern of appliqued elephants. Loved that thing.

Wow - what a busy and productive month you are having!!I love making baby quilts - they are relatively quick to make and easier to manouver on the machine. My favourites would be the two I made for my children when they were babies!

Gosh, I don't know what the Charming Girls Club is, but with all the giveaways and fun, it beats Disney's Mickey Mousse Club! :)

I think the baby quilt I like the best is blue and purple and has an appliqued sun at the top it's fun and cheery.
Hope you have a great day. :o}

I just started quilting and recently found your blog. So inspirational. My favorite baby quilt has to be the one I just started (my first). My 4 year old helped me pick the fabrics and is enthralled with the process.

Love your disappearing nine patch quilts. I'm actually giving that pattern a try in the next few weeks. We'll see if mine turns out as nice as yours.
