Our House Is Now a Finished House

My "Our House" quilt top is finally finished! Yes, I thought of my own name for this quilt from that song that rings through my head while stitching these cottages together. This pattern is from Fig Tree Quilts' Houses Book. I love the cottages. I loved them in the book. However, they were quite frustrating and over my ability level. I had trouble with them, specifically the row with all the windows was always about a 1/2 inch too short. In the end though, I do like the quilt top....just don't zoom in, PLEASE! I am feeling quite accomplished this holiday break! Pincushion, bag, this quilt top, and another one almost done. Look out, I seem to be on a roll!

A big thanks to Dawn, for this nice package I received with this beautiful ornament!

I don't see anything wrong with your windows...I think as quilters we fuss and fuss over seams and such...when the regular non quilter would never notice....take a look at a store bought quilt once...you won't feel so bad. I would think of that quilt as above your skill level...you challenged yourself and you met the challenge and now you will be able to move on to even more challenging quilts in the future. I am so happy for you! Merry Christmas

I love the quilt! Looks great to me zoomed in. That ornament is cute. I made so many of those a few years ago. I even have one less than an inch. Some are made of paper and some of velvet. I ordered the kit from Mary.
Have a great day!
