The Cowboy Way

I stayed up later last night finishing the binding on buddy's quilt for his bed, a cowboy quilt. I love the Benartex vintage cowboy fabrics. They are so sweet and remind me of what every little boy's play should be. Anyway, when I finished I crept into bud's room and swapped the new quilt for the old. He stirred a bit so I whispered, "I finished your cowboy quilt and I just put it on your bed." He smiled. And then went right back to dreaming.

My quilter did an excellent job with the detials . . .covered wagons, cowboy boots, hat, long horns, and cactus. It looks fabulous.

I also finished this quick and easy fall quilt. My mom liked the sample in the quilt shop, so this is going to be a Christmas present for her. I have never been in love with panels, but have found myself purchasing two lately. They have some darling prints and kits out there right now. Has anyone else purchaed a panel lately? What are your plans with it, if you did?

LOVE YOUR "COWBOY" QUILT, IT IS SOOO ADORABLE FOR A LITTLE BOY. I MADE MY SON AN AIRPLANE THEME QUILT WHEN HE WAS ABOUT 3YRS OLD...HE STILL HAS IT (ONLY NOW IT IS FOLDED IN A CLOSET) - HE IS 19 NOW. BUT ONCE WHEN I WAS CLEANING I WENT TO PACK IT WITH A BUNCH OF STUFF FOR STORAGE AND HE TOLD ME NOT TO "TOUCH HIS QUILT", WELL MY TEETH NEARLY FELL TO THE FLOOR, BUT THESE QUILTS WE MAKE TOUCH THOSE WE LOVE MUCH MORE THAN WE THINK...YOUR LITTLE "COWBOY" I AM SURE WILL LOVE AND CHERISH THIS GIFT FROM YOUR.

ALSO, LOVE YOUR FALL QUILT FOR YOUR MOM...BOY WILL SHE BE HAPPY, HUGS, MARY

The cowboy-quilt is so sweet and what a great way to give it to him :-)
The quilt with the panel is stunning! I love how you framed the panel, it just looks so beautiful! I have a Disney princesses panel I am going to make into a quilt for my daughter, and you have given me some great ideas of how to beautify it :-)

Ohhhhhhhh....man! Your little, late-night quilt exchange on Buddy's bed just makes my heart swell! Congrats on getting the binding done (and all of your inside info on sending your quilt out)....

Your fall wall-hanging is marvelous. And thanks for touching on using panels -- I've seen them in so many quilt magazines but never tried them. But seeing how beautiful yours is -- maybe this is something to try!

Enjoy your your looooong weekend, Dandy!

I've only purchased one panel - a halloween scene - and I haven't done anything with it. I even bought the fabric for the borders and backing! Looks like I better get cracking. Who am I kidding! It will be done for NEXT Halloween! LOL. Love your pumpkin panel. Very cute.

Your cowboy quilt is absolutely the best! Also loving your Fall panel quilt. I don't get to sew for myself very often however I think panels are a super way to go sometimes. There are so many cute ones out there, they make a fast and wonderful gift. Happy sewing ;)
