Pack and Go Bag

I used Sweetwater's Pack and Go pattern to make this bag.  The pattern was easy, but it was not lined and it had unfinished seams, which I didn't know when I bought it.  Well, I added a lining, but the seams were still unfinished.  I think I have thought of a way to fix that next time.  I am not a fan of unfinished seams.  Of course, the zipper is wonky and backwards....it was not going so well in the sewing room last night.  Next time, it will be better,  I do love the size of it.

Very pretty. Love the colors. I think it looks great. What are you going to use it for? looks like it could hold a lot.

Boo to raw seams and no lining! What is up with that?! We'll have to figure out how to fix that. Super cute though.

Hi! what if you made 2 bag pieces, but put the zipper into the lid pieces first, then sew the lids to the bags, leaving the zipper open enough to get your hand in, then sew both bag pieces together, right sides together. You would be able to have smaller pieces to get the zipper in more easily and then have a lined bag. Like the way a zippy bag is put together, except for the rectangular top.
Good luck, Leslie

NO, the zip isn't backwards...not for a lefty it isn't! That's what I say when the zip ends up the opposite way to normal (what is normal nowadays anyway? lol)...it's not a fault it was a design modification to suit left handers!
