Pinafore Bag- Strawbery Fields Edition

Friday night...I stayed up late and sewed this cute bag.  It is called Pinafore Bag by Me and My Sister.  I used Strawberry Fields.  I know some of you are scratching your heads....saying, I thought she used the last of her SF?  Well, what I said was I used the last of my charms.  I still have some yardage.  LOL.  I told you, I am a fabric hoarder.  I liked the darts int his bag, I liked the recommended quilting (notice the triple stripes of quilting), I liked the original pocket idea, and I really like the size...quite large for big bag queens like myself.  The turning of the handles, I am not going to lie to you gals....big pain.  I am hoping it is like the pain of labor and you forget it after awhile because I have the fabric to make myself one of these and I would like to.

This is a birthday present present so mums the word if you see my mom.  She doesn't hardly ever get  on here, so I figure I am safe to share it.  I hope the bag isn't too big for her.  It is pretty big.

Wonderful bag! I still have plans to make your "dandy bag". Your tutorial looks terrific so it is on my "to do " list.

You are making me want to make one! Now, if I do, I will construct the handles and send them to you for turning, okay? That looks like a BIG pain in the you-know-what to turn.

That's adorable Kris! And just how do you turn them? When I've made handles like that, they usually leave them open at the top and then hand stitch them closed. I'm guessing that wasn't the method here?
