Sometimes it is tough being a kid
So, we went to the playground and five minutes later abruptly left the playground after cracking Buddy's head. We drove to med express, walking in the doors 5 minutes before they closed. I might add, if you are squimish...don't scroll down.
Luckily, we had the DS in my purse to distract him.
4 staples later, we left. The doctor said to me- We have this numbing gel that we can give him and he will feel nothing. But that takes 30 minutes and you would be keeping 4 people here for that. Or we can give him a shot which will be a poke and a sting but then it is over after a few more pricks. It is up to you. I felt pressured, but went for the gel anyway.
Luckily, we had the DS in my purse to distract him.

Way to go, Mom! You have to stand up for what's best for your child. I hope he's not in too much pain!
How are you doing Kris? He reminds me of Chris so much it a long loving road hange on it well be fun. B. has to tell me what he wants for his birthday, that night cheer him up love ya when do you go to work?
Oh Buddy! I hope you are feeling better. I know how you feel Kris. I got that kind of call at work last year when Amelia fell at school and had the same injury.
Oh no!! pleased it is all stapled and he is on the mend.
Kids are tuff.
Congrats on holding your ground. Back "in the day" my son cracked his head and it took four medical personel plus the secuirty guard to hold him down. Luckily now at 25he says he doesn't remember...
Sorry for you little guy - but Bravo for sticking to your guns! I think it is a bit overreaching to try to guilt you into the shot. Everyone wants to go home on time but certain professions don't have that luxury.
Poor Buddy! Good job Kris...you did the right thing for Buddy...hope he's feeling OK!
Ouch!!!! Glad it is all fixed up.
Lucky you had the DS with you,
hope he gets better quickly!
Another great Camille`s bag, must be the pattern I have, designed by Penny Sturges,in QuickQuilts from Jan2007!! Always popular:-)
Good for you Mom! What kind of a thing is that to say to a Mom and her boy who are in distress? I hope Buddy's feeling better today!
Poor guy :-( I hope he is feeling better now. I think you made the right choice.
Oh my - BOYS! That's a pretty nice wound he has there. Good for you on opting for the gel, I would have too. I hope he feels better soon!
Good girl putting your child's comfort first and shame on the doctor for telling you that...there shouldn't have been any question! They get paid well enough to put in an extra 30 minutes! Hope Buddy is doing well.
YIKES! I hope Buddying doing better...poor thing!
