Photo Finish

Oh, I just managed to finish both of these April finishes.  First up is my MIL's tulip quilt top.  It is large.  I apologize, I had a hard time getting the entire quilt in the shot.  I hope to get this quilted in May.

Next up, I finished both of these aprons, which came from a pattern by The Pattern Basket.

Tomorrow is my birthday!  I am going to a soccer game, out to eat, and then to a quilt shop and maybe a very small quilt show.

Tote Bag Sewing Party Parade of Bags, Part 1

I want to thank all of the ladies who sewed with us in our first ever Tote Bag Sewing Party. I think it was quite successful and everyone had a lot of fun. I am going to "parade" some of the bags and then Kelly will parade the rest a bit later.

First up is Cyndi's cute Grab Bag. I love her fabrics.

Grethe made an adorable bag.  I have never seen this pattern, but it is quite darling as were her fabric choices.

Diane made a super fresh spring bag.  Don't you like her fabrics??

Kim made 2 bags.  She used her own pattern (which is reversible)  and she also made a Bella Bag.  Great job, Kim!

Di made a bag for her laptop.  Very creative!

Amy made a really cute bag, her own design.  I think the prairie points are quite nice!

Mary joined in the party fun after visiting her new grand baby...congratulations Mary.  Then she made this adorable Amy Butler Bag.

Carol was a bag making queen.  She made up some friendship totes and a Pinafore Tote Bag.  TOO cute.

Cheryl made a great diaper bag.  It is so roomy.

Karen made this very detailed applique bag.  Very quilty!

Sandie made this cute cherry print purse.  Very nice and I love the fabric choices.

CJ made a Grand Revival Designs tote using Verna fabrics.  You know how I love Verna right now!

Susan made a Dandy Bag.  I love her fabric choices.  Pink is a favorite of mine....she made this for a gift, I think.  :)  Susan has since made a really cute purse, you should go check it out.

Next up is my mom, Mary.  She made these cute bags made from jellyroll strips.  She used a pattern by Bunny Hill Designs.  Didn't mom do a great job?

Last, here are my bags I made using a Quilts Illustrated pattern.

Thanks again to everyone who participated.  You gals were so good about getting to everyone's blogs and that made it even more fun.  Remember to check Kelly's blog, she will be posting the rest of the fabulous bags.  I had such fun and I promise to host a bag party again.  Deborah was unable to join us this time due to a family emergency.  Hopefully she will be able to join in the fun next time.

Done!  Thanks for all of the cowboy loving...we have been crazy busy here with spring sports.  I appreciate all of the nice compliments though!  I finished quilting it last night and finished the binding while watching tv.

Cowboy Up

Sorry for the yucky night time photos, but I was eager to post this quilt top.  I started it tonight when I got home from work and finished the top.  Yeah!  It is for a friend's baby.  I had some wonky spots, but the baby won't notice!  I love the size it turned out, just right.

Jelly Roll Block 4

I couldn't decide what colors to use.  I think it looks good mixed in with the rest of the blocks.  I wanted to use some more of that brown, to blend things a bit.

Last report from the bag lady

Mom had to leave, but she did get her buttons sewn on her red bag first.  Cute, right?

I did manage to take a better picture of my bag in natural light.  I love it.

Here is my second bag that I made using the same pattern.
A close up of the key fob on the front and the tucks.

Cyndi's finished grab bag

Our friend, Cyndi, doesn't have a blog, so I am going to blog her progress last night.  Cyndi is such a sweetie, I sure hope she joins us bloggers soon!
Here are her beautiful fabrics:
Her pattern was called Grab Bag.  It is a free pattern allpeoplequilt.com

I have made this pattern myself, and it is a good one.  I thought Cyndi's turned out adorable!

Thanks for sharing with us Cyndi.

Last tote bag party post until tomorrow

Well, we are too tired, but very close to finishing all bags....we will post tomorrow.

Tote Bag Party Update 3

I see a lot of great bags out there.  Many of you have shut down for the night, but we are still plugging away here.  I have all but the top stitching done on the pink bag.  This is a big BAG.  A bit big for me for a purse, it is meant for me for a purse.  I probably will still use it though.  The picture doesn't represent its biggness.
Notice the tucks?  This was my first experience doing tucks.  Easy Peasey.

The green bag has a ways to go yet.  It is meant for a present.  I am going to go work on it right now.

Mom is ready to square up the third bag and sew it together.  I didn't get a picture of it, but here are the other two, they just need the buttons yet.  My camera stinks at night.  Mom's bags are really cute, I will have to get a better picture of them tomorrow.

We took a dinner break and made chili for the guys.  Now we are having a sundae party...LOL.  Then, we are back at it!

Bag Party Update 2

We've been busy.  I have cut all of my fabrics, ironed on interfacing, and have quilted the outer bag pieces.

Here's mom.  She is squaring up the bottom of bag 2.  She practically has bag 1 done except for some button embelishments.

Bag Party Update 1

Update 1:

I spent most of the night changing my mind.  I was driving my family nuts.  I made a mess of my sewing room.  Crazy mess.  Uggh.  Choices, decisions, oh my!  This morning, I think I have settled on making 2 purses, perhaps not both today.  I am going to use this Quilts Illustrated Pattern called Camielle's Bag.  I really like the looks of this pattern although I have never made it.  I hope it goes well.

This is mom's (Mary) project.  She is using this Bunny Hill Designs jelly roll bag pattern.  It is super cute.  She has made this pattern before.  She is using Cotton Blossoms fabric.  She has 3 bags cut, the strips sewn, and the lining cut.  She has one bag almost together.  She hopes to finish all 3.  Mom wants to give a special shout out to her friend's at home, Ina and Esther, who may be tuning in this weekend.

We are taking a break to go to the soccer game.  We will be back by noon to get sewing.  I hope to see some of you sites up and going when I get back!  Happy sewing girls!
