Winner!
An overwhelming majority of you loved the Ginger Blossom bag! It is so interesting to see other people's takes on the bags too. That was my favorite as well. They are all adorable and sturdy though.
Congratulations to Sydney of Crafty Craftiness! She is the official winner. Sydney chose Frolic...one of my favorite lines out right now! Head on over to Sydney's blog. She has lots of cute projects posted, and I bet she'd be thrilled to hear from you.
I was fortunate enough to win 2 giveaways myself last week, which is always fun. When my goodies arrive, I will be sure to post about them. Whenever I win, I always think it is time to pay it forward here at DQ and have my own giveaway. Thanks to everyone who entered, I wish I could have given you all a tote but I think that would take me all summer! LOL.
Please keep coming back, I love hearing from you!

Time to Give- A Giveaway

I noticed the other day that I missed my 200th blog giveaway. Oops. Sometimes life goes too quickly, doesn't it. So, I had an idea. I know a lot of people are struggling this season. Struggling to eat. Struggling to survive the times. Around this time of year, I like my family to give a bit. In the past we have given to the Salvation Army. I thought maybe some of you might like to give, too. Did I mention that there will be a prize?
Prize:

I will post a better picture later- my camera is having an attitude! But for now, you should know that the prize includes 2 Moda Charm packs, and 1 yard coordinating fabric, 1/4 yard of binding fabric. (For those of you on the Schnibbles diet, this should feed your habit for a mini quilt.)
I also want to say, that you don't have to give a gift to be entered for the prize. I've come up with a system:
1. Leave a comment- get 1 entry
2. Give a gift (click on the bucket widget on the right of your screen, it will take you to a secure giving location)...just so you know, any gift will help me fill "my bucket", even a dollar or two.- get 5 entries
A important note, the Salvation Army has a really nice site. It allows each giver to designate where they want the money to go. You get to pick your location. You can pick your hometown or any other area in need you want.
3. Blog about it and link to this post- get 1 entry
So, you could get up to 7 entries, if you wanted to. And, I think we could all feel pretty good about it. I am hoping to go well above my goal. I will draw Dec 1st. That gives everyone plenty of time to get entered.

Look what was in my mailbox!

I have been the very lucky winner of a couple of great blog giveaways recently. The first, was at Mid-Ohio Knitter. I won some fabulous charms from Moda's Pampered Pooch Line. This was very lucky for me as I had loved it when it first came out, but was still a pretty green quilter and I didn't get much of it. Our friends are having a baby this summer and they love dogs. They don't want to know the baby's gender, and I thought this charm pack will make them a fabulous baby quilt. A big thank you to Vickie! I'm sorry I didn't think to snap a shot before I ripped the charm pack apart! I was just so excited, LOL!
The second giveaway was at Carol's Craft Blog. She was very generous also and I won these nice patterns! Isn't that cool?

Speaking of handmade gifts. . .

Check out these nice hand knitted mittens I received from my friend, Judy. They are so snuggly warm! What a nice (and early) Christmas present. Our weather has recently changed to quite chilly (30's), so this is just in the nick of time! Plus, it's snowing here today!
I enjoyed reading everyone's favorite handmade presents stories so much, I thought I would share mine. Coincidently this was also made by my friend, Judy. It is an adorable sunflower wall hanging I asked for when I was just a teenager. I have used it every year since.

I am sure you are wondering who won the drawing? Buddy did the drawing honors and pulled out Cheryl's name! Cheryl, if you would email me your address, I will get that sent out. I am sure in the year to come there will be more giveaways, so keep checking back!

Quilt Giveaways Galore
Wow, so many generous quilters out there. It makes a girl happy to post about it, it truly does. Ladies, there are lots of great giveaways out there right now and you should check them out. First of all, Dana is having another crazy quilt giveaway. Everytime I think this gal has gone nuts giving away one of her gorgeous quilts to some stranger, she goes and out does herself! This time she is not giving away one quilt, but 3! She had some help from some generous friends and quilters this time. So, what are you waiting for? Go enter! A big thanks to Dana and all of her quilting elves.

Secondly, Camille over at Simplify is giving away a quilt of YOUR choice. I know, I cannot believe it either. You choose your favorite Thimble Blossoms pattern and she'll make it (most likely in her fabulous Cotton Blossoms fabric line). So, head on over here to enter. A big thanks to Camille for her generosity.
I know I kept teasing about a giveaway and I think technically this should be the entry. Sighh....I have been a bit overwhelmed trying to get Christmas projects done and I know you can all relate to that. I will finish up the project and it will be GIVEAWAY time, I promise.

Lucky Me
First of all, it has been a very busy week. I feel like crazy mama on the run! I just want to thank each of you for all the quilt love. I'm so lucky to have all of your great feedback, it keeps me sewing. A gal couldn't ask for better blog friends! You're right buddy was thrilled with his quilt. His friend came over to play the next day, and he took her right in, spread out his quilt, and told her to check out his new quilt his mama made. Of course, I heard this from the next room and I couldn't help but feel like I was the luckiest mama in the world. That little man is such a joy.
Speaking of luck, check out my loot I won over to Pat's blog Bits and Pieces!

She was participating in that huge Fall Blogger Giveaway that was so much fun. I was so excited to see the package on the kitchen counter when I arrived home today, that I almost knocked husband down on the way. Look out when there's loot, that's all I will say about that. The truffles are so yummy. There is a cute table runner kit, some Halloween fat quarters (yessiree!), some Best Press (I love that stuff), and a real cute little decoration for Halloween. I think the DQ photographer forgot that someone already put that in a display around the house. You'll have to trust me, it was just cute. Thanks so much, Pat, for the generous giveaway!
Speaking of giveaways. . .This marks blog number 96, only 4 more until my 100th blog-i-versary. So, keep checking back in and I'd best get sewing on my little giftie that I am going to giveaway!

Daisies....white daisies are my favorites, but yellow are equally cheerful. 4. plate 5. small decorative plate my college roommate gave me 6. a great picture book I just know you'd all love if you read it, The Quilt Maker's Journey

And the winner is....

Thanks to everyone who entered the contest. It was nice to meet some new quilters in the process. I have visited several new blogs and I will finish up with the newest entries this week. I entered everyone into the drawing, including those who sent a friend and earned extra entries, as promised. I also entered Jackie, as she is a faithful visitor and commenter and she is on vacation (or I know she would have entered).
I had little buddy draw as he cannot read names and I knew he would be delighted by this big person job.
The winner is....
Congratulations to Mary Anne from Moonbeams in a Jar!

And on a special note, there is a very special giveaway going on at Simplify. Camille is giving away one of her signature quilts, Bloom, to celebrate the joy that her pattern company has brought her in the last year. Congratulations to Camille and may you continue to not only have success (as I am sure you will), but to love your job. Please tell her I sent you, as I will get an extra entry!

What is the prize? I think I will giveaway that pretty peach apron I made. Perhaps I will put some goodies in the pockets as well. I will try to draw sometime on Tuesday.
