Maybe you can decide...

I am making a table topper for a round kitchen table.  This project right now is measuring about 19 inches square.  Should I add and additional scrappy border of 2.5 inch squares? 

 Or not? Remember, it already 19 inches square and it is for a 36 inch round table.  What do you think?



And just for kicks...a picture of buddy when I wasn't at home.  How do I know I wasn't at home?  Well, because Jake the Wonderdog is not allowed on our furniture, so obviously the husband took this shot.  Hmmm...it seems the boys must play when mama is away.

    The table topper is wonderful! With out without the scrappy border. I guess I would only add the border if you need the topper to be bigger. If not I would leave it as it is!

    I like it better with the border squares :) I think it really finishes it off....

    I like the scrappy border Kris. It IS a cute photo - even if doggy wasn't suppose to be there.

    I like the additional scrappy border! Remember it will shrink up a bit after quilting and washing (if that helps).

    The table topper is very pretty but I do like a scrappy border. I also love the puppy on the couch...too funny.

    I like it with the border - how close to the edge do you want it? Too funny about the pic, for shame for shame....lol! Our dog has her own chair in the living room. We got her as an adult and no matter what I tried, I couldn't keep her off, so gave her her very own. Sigh. Turns out hubby was encouraging her to get up while my back was turned.

    I join those who say better with... the border has my vote. It is beautiful either way but I like scrappy borders...

    I like the scrappy border. But I like it without the border too. I guess if I were making it, I would add the border.

    I like the scrappy square border. So what if is is a little larger than you wanted, I think it looks great----love the pattern and fabric. Oh---I think I have a couple of charm square packs of that fabric, I better get busy. BettyLou
