Time for a Giveaway!

I finished up a few more towels and I decided that they seemed to be such a hit, that I would give one set away as a prize. You cannot have hand towels without some Christmas hand soap. You can hardly see it, but I also have this very nice apron pattern book. I have a copy of this book and it has a ton of great ideas as well as a fun look back at retro aprons. I hope someone that really loves aprons or sewing gets this copy and loves it as much as I do. As a final token, a small Moda fat pack is in the giveaway. Sorry the picture is dreary, it is raining today.

So, for this little 100th post giveaway please share your favorite homemade gift ever. It may be a gift you gave or received. I will put everyone's name in a hat and draw a winner on Monday.

Good luck!

My favorite homemade gift is a bracelet that my sister made for me.

I'm doing all homemade gifts for Christmas this year. I did an apron for my favorite aunt, who loves aprons. I'd love to be able to make more of them for her!!

My favorite homemade gift is a quilt that my mother made. Since her death 4 years ago I sometimes just go in and touch it - just the connection I guess. blessings, marlene

What a terrific giveaway to brighten up anyone's holiday season!! I have to say that even though I love to quilt and have given away gads of quilts, my favorite homemade item is gift baskets filled with homemade goodies from the kitchen. Especially baked goods. Thanks for the chance to win your goodies.

My favorite gift of all time is a quilt that my mom and grandmother made for me. Since I have lost them both it makes it even more special. Thank you for the wonderful give away. ( I did inherit some of my grandmothers aprons, love aprons!)

Giveaway! Yippeee!!! My favorite "homemade" gift was one that I gave away. My daughter was born 3 days before my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary and my husband and I both forgot since we were busy doing other things... LOL. So my husband went out and got them a card and we printed our new daughter's (their first grandchild's)footprints in it as her signature.

Not quite completely homemade but made with love.

I make stuff all the time. One of my favorite things that I made as a surprise gift for 2 girls at work was a cute little Desk Deli Tote bag for each of them with a cloth napkin inside embroidered with their name on it. They were both so surprised and I loved being able to make a surprise gift that was enjoyed so much.

Happy 100th post, I would love a chance to win the nice prize. The towels are great!

My favorite all time handmade gift I ever got was a darling little nightgown and mop cap my Mother made when I was little. It was white with these great big red roses on it. I wore that nightgown until I couldn't get it on anymore...I really loved that gown!

My favorite homemade gift was made for me. My mother had learned of her breast cancer and later had one removed. She wanted to make me an afghan before it was too late. I received a beautiful blue and yellow one. I would love to win your great giveaway. I'm just starting to make aprons!

I love the towel, and I especially love aprons. I am making several for Christmas and would love to win the patterns. I'm hooked on making them and want to get some new designs. My best ever handmade gift would have to be a quilt from my mom. So sweet and special. Thanks for your generous giveaway!

Congratulations on 100 posts!!! My favourite handmade gift is a set of doiley's that my Mum hand crocheted for me about 20 years ago. I also have some that my Grandmother has made. Lovely treasures.

Hi Kris,I love your towels. You did a beautiful job on them!! My favorite handmade gift (and I have a zillion and love every one of them!) is a pink tote bag made by a blogger friend. Last year about this time we found that my sister has cancer. My friend made the bag with pink fabrics and buttons. It was such a thoughtful gift. I use it all the time.

Thanks for your comment on my blog...actually I had a really hard time machine quilting that little quilt. I am more comfortable with hand quilting. Lots of Hugs, Mary

When I was young my mum made me a swan doorstop. It was blue and although it was just a doorstop I LOVED it - it made me fall in love with sewing. It is probably the only thing my mum has ever sewn but it got me hooked and I have loved sewing ever since!

I don’t know if I am eligible to win as I live in Aus but whoever gets these goodies is very lucky!!!

The best homemade gift I ever gave someone else was a cross-stitched map of the United States, with special symbols for each state and the capitals. What made it really special was that it was for my inlaws who owned a motel and I cross-stitched a red X and an arrow with the words "You are Here" pointing to where the motel was. They had it hanging in the lobby for many years.

Gosh, I have so many favorite homemade gifts -- both given and recieved! One that comes to mind is that one year I made 3 big I Spy quilts for my nieces and nephew. They were the hexagon pattern that was popular a few years ago and they had the inner border with all of the I Spy items embroidered on them. They were pretty cute!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for me :) I would really love to get my hands on that apron book....and your beautiful towels....and the FQs....and the soap!
My favourite homemade present ever, was when my parents gave me my grandmothers old sewing-box, and had filled it up with needles, ribbons, ric-rac, FQ's and such. It was so special to me -still is!

One year I didn't have much money to buy gifts and wanted to give my Mom something special. I had found a jig saw puzzle that looked exactly like a far our family used to own. So I put it together, used the puzzle glue to make it permanent and framed it for her. She loved it. Still does. It's still hanging in her house after nearly 40 years.

That would be a puzzle of a farm, not a far! He He!

Congrats on the 100th post. It goes by fast doesn't it??
Love the give aways. Please enter my name. My favorite gift.....has to be the latest Annie doll my friend Deb made for me. Love her!!

Congrats on your 100th. Well this isn't really homemade but sort of. My mom raised orchids, and when she passed away I gave quite a few to my sister in law. At that time in my life I didn't take any for myself, I never was too good at plants. Years later for a birthday present my sister in law seperated one of the orchids and potted it up for me. That was my best gift ever with so many wonderful memories of my mom, and still going strong today!

I love your towels and was just thinking of some quick gifts to give. What cookie jar recipe are you going to give away? My favorite gifts that I gave was a 12 month calander with each month pictures of my siblings and my family to my parents. If they keep the calander up much longer the dates and days will be identical only the year will be wrong! The best gufts that I receive are gift cards to the quilt shop where I rent the long arm machine to quilt my big quilts. Happy holidays and I enjoy your blog!

my mom gave me a quilted Christmas wall hanging after I got married. She is not crafty and had been working on it since I was in high school, so one of my favorites simply because I know how many years went into it.

I was just thinking that I had never received a handmade gift expect for in blog swaps and then I remembered the toy clown my grandmother knitted me when I was about 5. It was purple and I named him Paul. My brother used to swing him round by his hat and he ended up with a stretched neck - the clown not my brother!
My grandmother did embroidered pictures until she was in her 80's.

My favorite handmade gift I ever received was a turkey door hanger made by my niece Buffy when she was a little girl. At least that's the one that comes to mind right now. Happy 100th post blogiversary.
